Donald Trump resumed his campaign activities today in Michigan, aiming to bolster support ahead of the
November presidential election. This comes just two days after an attempted assassination at his West
Palm Beach golf course was averted by Secret Service agents. A gunman, armed with a rifle, was
discovered near the course and was apprehended following a brief pursuit. Trump wasted no time
blaming President Biden and Vice President Harris for fueling hostility against him through their public
comments, which he claims are putting his life in danger. Both Biden and Harris condemned the incident,
with Harris emphasizing that “violence has no place in America.”

In a surprising turn of events, Trump’s campaign is also focused on a new business venture—this time in
cryptocurrency. During a recent X Spaces event, he announced the launch of World Liberty Financial, a
cryptocurrency initiative, marking a departure from his earlier stance when he called digital currencies a
“scam.” Trump now promises to transform the U.S. into a global leader in crypto, vowing light regulation
and a national stockpile of Bitcoin. However, details surrounding the company’s operations remain
scarce.

Simultaneously, Vice President Harris is ramping up her own efforts, with planned interviews in key
battleground states like Pennsylvania, where she’ll address crucial voter groups such as Black and
Hispanic communities. Her responses to the assassination attempt on Trump are eagerly awaited, given
the tension surrounding the event.

The increasing security risks around Trump, including a previous incident where a gunman opened fire at
a rally, have underscored the immense strain on the Secret Service. Already operating with significantly
fewer agents than required, the agency faces the challenge of covering not only Trump but also other
high-profile officials in the lead-up to the election. The head of the Secret Service has acknowledged the
pressure on his team, admitting that they are stretched thin and working under extreme stress. Despite
calls for additional resources, it’s unlikely that the agency will be fully staffed before Election Day.
As both candidates intensify their campaigns, these security challenges add another layer of complexity
to an already heated election season, raising concerns over the safety of public figures and the overall
stability of the race.
